  • Emvoice One now lets you record MIDI into its piano roll using either a MIDI controller keyboard or MIDI files in your DAW. Here's how to make a recording and a quick guide in how Emvoice works with MIDI notes.
    If you haven't downloaded the demo of Emvoice One, head to www.emvoiceapp.com to get Lucy in your DAW.

    *I compose in Midi outside of Emvoice because there I have better compositional tools. So every time my midi composition changes, I have to play through the whole midi clip & re-record the midi into Emvoice VST? Why can't we just drag & drop a midi file into Emvoice?*

    Not being able to hear what you're playing is not very convenient. Please add at least a beep or something while you're playing notes. Though this is much too expensive for my taste, Emvoice is a great and one of a kind VST!

      It's not necessary to have a synth incorperated in the plugin. In fact, I think it would slow the plugin down. All you need to do is arm another track at the same time, such as synth or strings, and then you can hear that as you record midi directly into Emvoice. That's what I do anyway and isn't a hassle since I always have other virtual instruments active anyway.

      @@JostSchwider Yeah even with this way it won't do it. But I found out that if I have midi notes in the piano roll editor of the Emvoice One vst then it'd pick up the notes from there, but it won't do it through the routing or by listening to the sound of it. I feel like there should have been a way to use the routing, too, but not sure if there's anything missing or not.

    Downloaded this yesterday and it's great... but I cannot seem to A) record the midi from the EmVoice plugin to a midi region on a track, and B) bounce the midi to audio for further editing. I have a vocal track written w/ melody complete, but I cannot get it out of the EmVoice plugin and onto an actual channel strip in the DAW. I'm on Logic Pro X - any ideas?

    I just bought this. The MIDI feature to trigger notes doesn't trigger anything in real time. How am I supposed to make up a melody if I can't hear the melody in real time? You can't just play something with out actually hearing the "LALA" melody. Is this correct? If so, I will be asking a refund asap!

    It is a remarkable product. I must say, however, in a long song with the synth voice on it's own it does become somewhat fatiguing. I believe this due to a lack of dynamics. A real voice has so many volume and tone variations that it can remain interesting over a number of minutes. But overall this is a great plugin.

    • @davelordy

      You can sort of do it now, just drag your MIDI region onto your Emvoice track, hit the record button in Emvoice, and now simply play the region - and it gets transferred into Emvoice . . . of course just being able to drag-and-drop would be even better, but this method is quick and easy.

    Just got Emvoice and three voices. Using Pro Tools, I've imported the midi tracks I created in a score in Finale. Worked great. Now I've got to use Midi Listen mode to get the notes into Emvoice. Question is... How do I do that for multiple tracks at the same time? It works one track at a time, but when I enable listen mode on one track, the click the plugin on a different track to enable that, it seems the first track gets disabled. And so on. Is there a way to enable midi listen on multiple instances of the plugin at the same time?

    And how can I hear what I am actually playing? There should be a piano sound build into Emvoice that helps with recordings. Sound can be activated during MIDI listening mode. I know I can set up to trigger sounds coming from other tracks at the same time I am recording into Emvoice but it is rather inconvenient.

      You can bounce Emvoice One like any other virtual synth. The only difference is that, usually, there are midi notes on the virtual synth track that you're bouncing (obviously, otherwise there would be nothing to bounce). So you need to create an empty midi region (it can even contain notes actually, that won't have any impact), in order to let your DAW "know" that there is something to bounce

    1:58 I cannot understand why you make life difficult for people who are used to command/strg-Z and command/strg-Y (like in virtually every other software) and instead introduce different shortcuts.

    • @Emvoice
      @Emvoice  3 года назад

      Because it's really hard to make work with the DAW. The DAW will usually preempt that shortcut so it's unusable for the plugin
